Linden Labs released a policy change regarding Gacha. Many people see Gachas as gambling, which is illegal according to the laws that several countries LL operates in, and seriously frowned upon in many others. Enforcement won’t start until September 1; after that date an Abuse Report for “Gaming Policy Violation” will be the preferred method of reporting this content to Linden Lab.
They're not stopping the regular selling of things. It's the sales method that's ending, not the items.
Breedable creators should be considering their options as well, if they may fall under the new 'gacha' policy. Everything else that has a 'pay for a chance', like breedables, fishing with linden-bought bait, and anything that is similar to a gacha that you use lindens to purchase a chance. They may all fall under this new rule, so they would technically not be allowed.
On the bright side, the value of your gacha items may go up depending on whether or not the creator chooses to re-release their creations as non-gachas, so pay attention to what creators are saying. LL gotta do what LL gotta do. It's not easy being a worldwide entity. Gotta make a whole lot of different people happy.
Big sale on Gacha due to policy change
