Introvert or an Extravert?

Recently, a friend and I had a conversation about whether it’s better to be an introvert or an extrovert. Society strongly idealize extroverts as the best personality types. These two ways of relating to others each have their own unique advantages.

Does outgoing and loud mean "confident and good", quiet and reserved mean "insecure and shy"? I’m definitely an introverted extrovert! I think, a balance of both is best for growth of character and maturity. You don't have to identify as solely an introvert or an extrovert, there's a spectrum. I like to think that it's a trait just like being right-handed or left-handed: it only determines which of your hands is dominant, but you use both. I assume that only very few people tie their shoes with only one hand.

Society benefits strongly by both personalities and it says nothing about social skills. It's just two different ways of approaching life and both have their strengths and weaknesses. Let’s put aside our “us vs them” mentality because neither personality is better – just different.

Peace and Love, Elora
