Bellisseria's One Year Anniversary

Yesterday marked Bellisseria’s first anniversary in Second Life since the new premium homes first officially opened up for Premium subscribers. It’s been exciting to see the birth of a new continent and watch it grow over time. 

Bellisseria has been beautifully landscaped. They were all placed in 1024 square meter parcels, with a not so small yard around the buildings – which gives some sense of privacy to residents. There is no initial purchase price for the home. It remains the property of Linden Lab, but you have exclusive use of it as long as you wish. Your land fees are paid automatically each month at no extra cost to you.

The different Linden home themed styles have worked pretty well so far. These include Traditional, Houseboats, Trailers/Campers, Victorian homes and more recently with the new Log homes. When visiting the land, looking at the map, you will see many green dots of members enjoying their new abodes.  I’m not much for going to clubs or the like, but I love the idea of what Linden Lab has cultivated in Bellisseria. 

It should be noticed, too, that there are some public leisure areas in the continent. I’m not sure they will be used often, but they do help in fostering the feeling of community. The older style Linden homes will probably be shut down sometime soon now that we have Bellisseria.
